This fight was what I expected, entertaining, wild and sometimes dull. Shane Mosely did what I thought he would do, WIN but it took him much longer then I expected. I thought after he got pass the first few rounds and Mayorga’s awkwardness he’d take him out but he didn’t Shane was very cautious and wasn’t as active as I thought he would be. I attribute that to Mayorga’s strength and aggression. I don’t know if anyone else agrees but there is a part of me that actually thinks that if Mayorga had some natural talent and some skill he’d actually do very well in professional boxing.
I found myself at times getting bored with the wildness of the fight and the lack of action then something would happen, just enough to gain my attention and make me sit up in my chair but minutes later I was back to being bored.
Rounds 6 and 12 were the best and most exciting rounds to me, six because they actually fought throughout most of the round and round 12 because it was the end of the fight the round in which the KO came with 2 seconds left. I want to know how could Mayorga make it to the 12th round and manage to get knocked down and then out, that must hurt.
Congratulations to Shane Mosely for another win, I’m not sure where he’s going after this but I don’t think he can fight much longer. Shane still has talent and skill but I think father time is catching up with him, he may have one or two more fights left in him if he picks the right opponents.
Mayorga can continue to fight because he’s very unpredictable and you never know what can happen he has that awkward style, aggression and power the can ruin someone’s night ( ask Vernon Forest ) He’s that bad boy that people dislike but they like to see him fight.
