This fight was what I expected, entertaining, wild and sometimes dull. Shane Mosely did what I thought he would do, WIN but it took him much longer then I expected. I thought after he got pass the first few rounds and Mayorga’s awkwardness he’d take him out but he didn’t Shane was very cautious and wasn’t as active as I thought he would be. I attribute that to Mayorga’s strength and aggression. I don’t know if anyone else agrees but there is a part of me that actually thinks that if Mayorga had some natural talent and some skill he’d actually do very well in professional boxing.

I found myself at times getting bored with the wildness of the fight and the lack of action then something would happen, just enough to gain my attention and make me sit up in my chair but minutes later I was back to being bored.

Rounds 6 and 12 were the best and most exciting rounds to me, six because they actually fought throughout most of the round and round 12 because it was the end of the fight the round in which the KO came with 2 seconds left. I want to know how could Mayorga make it to the 12th round and manage to get knocked down and then out, that must hurt.

Congratulations to Shane Mosely for another win, I’m not sure where he’s going after this but I don’t think he can fight much longer. Shane still has talent and skill but I think father time is catching up with him, he may have one or two more fights left in him if he picks the right opponents.

Mayorga can continue to fight because he’s very unpredictable and you never know what can happen he has that awkward style, aggression and power the can ruin someone’s night ( ask Vernon Forest ) He’s that bad boy that people dislike but they like to see him fight.

My first thoughts were why make this their first fight after both fighter suffered their first loss. No tune up!!! Now someone will suffer his second straight loss and back to the bottom he will go.

It wasn’t a candidate for fight of the year but it was a good competitive fight, action throughout. No one was gun shy (afraid to throw punches like in the Rocky Juarez vs Jorge Barrios on the under card, Rocky you need to throw more punches, MORE OFFENSE!!)

I did not see the reckless, wild, mad man in Katsidis that I saw in his fight with Joel Casamayor. I saw a more controlled Katsidis which may have worked against him.

Juan Diaz surprised me. I wasn’t sure how he would be after his loss to Nate Campbell but apparently he was prepared, ready and willing and seemed to have put that loss behind him. Juan through four and five punch combinations, the jab was on point all night he was on top of his game there should’ve never been a split decision. I guess a W is still a W regardless if only two judges saw it that way and one was watching a totally different fight.

Did you think Miguel Cotto would win this one? Well if you watched all his previous fights then you did think he would win, but if you really watched his fights you would’ve seen a man the could be beat it was just a matter of time and the right opponent.

I’ll just mention a few things that indicated to me that he would no longer be undefeated after this fight.

He has been hurt in several of his fights

Magarito has never been hurt

He tends to slow down after six round of fighting

He was using to much energy to early in the fight sticking and moving a pace he’s not used to.

He was facing someone that wouldn’t back down and would pressure him the entire fight and make him fight all 12 rounds if it was to go 12 rounds.
